Welcome to Stories From A Country Girl (SFACG!) blog!
All of the tails on this blog are in fact stories from a "real" country girl. Born and raised in rural Ontario, being brought up on my family's dairy farm helped to shape how I see the world and for that, I am forever grateful.
I moved away from home (and the family farm) to pursue a degree in Agricultural Business at University before taking a job in the big city of T.O. after graduating, to pursue my interest in politics and government. While I loved the fast pace lifestyle of the city (and not so much of the chaotic commute from rural Southwestern Ontario into the city each and every day), I followed my heart and have returned to the agricultural industry to pursue my love and passion for agriculture, and communications.
Along with the day-to-day speed bumps of life, I am in that awkward transition of growing up. Let's face it- you can't be Peter Pan forever and growing up is something you just have to do. While I spend my weeks away from home figuring life out on my own in a different city, you can find me on most weekends back in the country on the farm. I’m usually spending time with my cows (insert laugh here now), hanging out with family and friends, loving the outdoors, sitting by the water, reading a good book, helping with chores, and all in all, just enjoying the country life.
