Christmas Overload? Bah Humbug!

OK, so I hate to be the scrooge of Christmas this early on, but come on people (and I'm not referring to bloggers by any means, I'm referring to all the TV commercials, retail stores, restaurants, etc).. enough with the Christmas overload.. ALREADY! Halloween was only a mere 96 hours ago and already, I feel like I have been bombared with Christmas cheer.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Christmas, but considering my favourite time of year hasn't even taken place yet (the Royal), I still don't think it is necessary to start celebrating Christmas. We are only 4 days into November! I can't believe this year, how fast people removed their Halloween decorations and moved in the snowmen, reindeer and Christmas trees. I feel like this year, people are trying to push Christmas on people more than ever! Was it like this last year? Was I just too busy to notice the Christmas decorations go up so fast or is everyone trying to captialize on the Christmas cheer even earlier on than normal? I feel like with this overload of Christmas cheer so early on, it may take away from the awe of the Christmas season by the time the big day arrives.

I know my mood will changce once the Royal has come and gone. I will look forward to celebrating Christmas then and decorating and baking and carolling and playing in the snow. But until then, I'm going to block out all of these Christmas shaninigans and enjoy a few more days in November before I bring on the Christmas cheer.

I'm sorry I'm being scrooge and I'm sorry if I offended anyone in the process of this rant and squashed your holiday cheer :S I swear I'll jump on the bandwagon soon enough :)

I love the Gap and Old Navy commercials for Christmas. It's still pretty warm where I live so its hard to get into Christmas yet. I'm in North Dakota so when we have snow it will kick start my Christmas cheer!
