This week (April 18-April 25) is National Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Week sponsored by the Trillium Gift of Life Network. It is an organization that my work supports and has raised awareness for in the past as well as continues too in the future.
You may wonder.. what does this mean for you or I? Well this awareness week is to bring to light the thousands of people that are saved each year because of donated organs and tissue. It is estimated that 700 people are saved each year because of organ/tissue donation here in Ontario but that another 1600 people, who are on the list of organ transplants, are in need.
This is something I have thought about for some time, and now that I see the opportunity, I think I may jump on it. I may give it a little more thought but I am sure that I'm going to fill out the consent form in order to help save a life if something ever happened. It just seems like the right thing to do, at least in my mind.

Put it on your health card. I don't know if you can do it before you need to renew it but mines been on it since I was 16. It's just a little symbol on the back that lets medical professionals know what your wishes are.
